There’s something about Halloween that brings out our collective weirdness in the best possible way. At Nightjar Cannabis Dispensary in Bloomfield, New Jersey, weird is something we celebrate year-round, especially at our annual Halloweed event.
We were blessed with a Friday Halloween this year, and our Bloomfield team turned 549 Bloomfield Ave into a space that felt half-cartoon fever dream and half-haunted lounge. Cobwebs stretched across the counters, ghosts flew from the ceiling, skeletons with disco-ball eyes manned the registers, and an enormous orange “Trick or Treat” blow-up archway greeted customers at the door…and luckily DID NOT blow away during the 50 mph wind gusts!
The night kicked off at 6:00pm with a mix of costume glitter, raffle tickets, stickers designed by Cynthia, and LOTS of candy. There were raffles for a WYLD skateboard, Green Lightning flower, Jersey Smooth vapes, and a Costume Contest where even dogs dressed up for a chance to win a prize … so good … that it practically deserved its own horror movie trailer.
On their way out, one customer clutching a mini pumpkin and a handful of candy yelled, “You don’t just sell weed… you throw a better party than my college ever did.” Why thank you!
Hosting events like this in our Bloomfield, NJ dispensary reminds us why we built Nightjar the way that we did. Not just as a cannabis dispensary near Montclair and Newark, but as a community space where a love for cannabis, weirdness, and a touch of chaos, can all coexist.
