Every awards season, the same thing happens. The studios clean up, the speeches run long, and nobody thanks their budtender. C’mon people! This year, we are correcting the record and graciously accept the following awards presented to the team at Nightjar Cannabis in Bloomfield, NJ, for work that the Academy frankly overlooked.
Critics praise this film as one of the most committed “Wazzzup” deliveries this side of a late-90s beer commercial. The timing is impeccable. The prop budget was apparently unlimited. This is ensemble work. This is craft. Watch here
Edie Parker accessories deserve to be shown off properly. Vapes, grinders, rolling papers, all of it in vivid color, passing frame by frame with elegant, precisely timed gestures. The wrist work alone deserved a nomination and the musical synchronization sealed the win. Watch here
Against all odds, Churro nails the Friends theme song with such conviction that Dele and Te’kyah materialized from nowhere to clap in perfect time. It is a redemption arc compressed into under a minute. The Academy was not ready. Watch here
Apparently professional dancers and choreographers work at Nightjar. This masterpiece was filmed at our 2nd anniversary Cannaversary event at BrwnBox in Orange, NJ, where Victor took to the floor with a disco ball on his head and absolutely delivered. Flawless.
